With the arrival of some fine weather in Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire it’s time to make the most of the sunny longer days, and there’s no better way than by visiting the abundance of fantastic golf courses on your doorstep.
Situated on the Ythan Estuary and overlooking the North Sea and Sands of Forvie National Nature Reserve the Newburgh course is a challenging par 72 Championship links course that demands accurate golf from tee to green.
McDonald Golf Club, Ellon is set in the heart of Aberdeenshire countryside, this scenic eighteen hole golf course provides a memorable golfing experience for all standards of golfer. The original nine hole course winds its way through this magnificent forest with its stately trees and beautiful rhododendron bushes. The well established first nine has a natural stream that twists and turns across the course and features on almost every hole.
For golfers, there are few more breathtaking sights – in summer or winter – than the distant, majestic, eastern flank of Bennachie, as you send a drive straight towards it from Oldmeldrum’s elevated 6th tee.
Set among the dunes and across the Craigewan links the course is a classic example of Scottish seaside golf at it’s best – and the toughest! Peterhead Golf Club was established in 1841.
Enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding woodland as you play. At the highest points on the 12th and 17th you are awarded with stunning panoramas of the city of Aberdeen, its busy harbour and the expanse of the North Sea beyond.
